Gamlingay Community Centre (The Ecohub) was significantly expanded and modernised 7 years ago. The centre is recognised as one of the most Eco friendly buildings in South Cambridgeshire, providing very cost effective and flexible space for community and local business use.
Sadly, since building handover, a roof leak has caused internal damage. The multi-tiered roof construction is complex and numerous contractors have carried out work, claiming eradication of the roof leak. None have succeeded, but the proposed scope of works and cost estimates have continually escalated.
DB Industrial Roofing Ltd were asked to investigate the long standing roof leak in early December 2019 and immediately identified issues with an extensive valley gutter that was unable to cope with excessive (now become the norm) rainfall and seriously poorly constructed. DB Industrial Roofing provided the Trustees of the Community Centre with a detailed report, a detailed solution proposal, and a very competitive Cost quotation.
DB Industrial Roofing were instructed and, immediately before Christmas 2019, they stripped out and replaced the defective valley gutter, formed an additional valley gutter, redesigned the rainwater outlets from the gutters and totally resolved the long standing problem.
An excellent and timely response to our initial request, expertise and knowledge of roofing, a sound solution proposal, a very competitive price, quickly executed work on site, full Health & Safety measures throughout, excellent and responsive site operatives and a long standing problem completely resolved.
